Uh oh... Katie's learning to drive in the big city!
And it's a stick-shift. 
My teacher. He's very experienced (and patient).
We went to this beautiful, traffic-free cemetery to practice.
On the bridge overlooking the cemetery's pond.
A peacock lazying on the grass. (The Spanish name for peacock translates to "real turkey!")*Correction... those Spaniards didn't have the sense of humor I thought. "Royal turkey" isn't quite as funny. :)
I had never seen one of these "real turkies" from behind... he was either snubbing me or showing off the goods.
Some descriptive words: exquisite, perfect, regal.
This little boy, his brother, and grandpa were watching the fish in the pond...
...and feeding them as well! The boy in this picture (the younger of the two) had just tried to shove an entire armload of bread slices through the grate when his grandpa caught him and put a stop to things.
The fish were absolutely enormous (or at least the ones at the top of the food chain). The only time I'd seen goldfish the size of Northern Pike!

I like the picture of Esau on the bridge. What an interesting little window into your life there, as well as a cultural lesson. The cemetery is like a beautiful park! I laughed at the "real turkey" but the word "real" in Spanish also translates to "royal." Perhaps that is the intended meaning?? :)

ReplyDeleteHAHA. Shoot. I should've saved my "the pictures were pleasing to look at and the captions made me smile" for this one! This is so interesting! LOL at the goldfish at the top of the food chain. And I might add, you look wonderful in these photos.
ReplyDeletemi alumna cada dia es mejor, lo unico es que todavia tiene que aprender a saber que hacer cuando hay pilotos desesperados (siempre tocando la bocina) en guate las personas son mas locos para manejar... tienen que verlo! la ultima clase kate dijo "que 5 minutos despues y todavia le temblaban las piernas"
