Irtra de Agua Caliente

This past Friday, we took advantage of the continually sunny weather and went on an outing to one of the many "Irtra" water parks in Guatemala. This one is called the "Hot Water Irtra" because of it's large sauna and various jacuzzis. As you can see in the picture below, there's also a pool and baby pool.

We set up camp for the day here.

Franchesca in her new little swimming suit holding the ball they bought her from one of the children selling outside the entrance. (Also note the fat little foot that poked it's way into the frame.)
The fat little owner of the fat little foot.

Giving Poogi shlurps of 7-UP.

Picking flowers for Franchesca.

Roaring at each other, by the looks of it. Or playing shark?

This is Marvin. I think he was glad when Esau took over on the babysitting.
Everyone loves Franchesca kisses.

Jacob and his girlfriend patiently waiting for everyone to get ready to leave.

  1. The one that really caught my eye is the one of the two guys with their arms on the edge of the pool and the three chairs. Just something pleasing about the composition! Also love the flower ones with Franchesca, and the "sharks" picture! I'm getting good at telling Jacob and Esau apart, even when they aren't labeled!

Love this post. The pictures are very pleasing and the captions make me smile. My favorite is of Franchesca kissing you. So cute!

  3. Wow Katie, what a beautiful place. My fav is the one where Esau is holding the flower in the pool, and little Francesca is there too. 2nd is the same one as your mom, with the 2 guys and the 3 chairs. AAhhhmmmm, I feel a little sorry for Marvin. That can't be a complimentary picture of him! Love, Bonnie

  4. Yeah... I have to admit I felt just the teeniest bit guilty for putting a less-that-flattering picture of someone on my blog, but he's this big, mellow bear of a guy, and I captured him in his natural habitat!
