February 28th marked Esa and Jacob's 22nd birthday. We celebrated with family, lasagna (made by me), and cake. They're too old for presents. :)
Esa and Jonathan- the very talkative son of the woman that works for the Escobars making clothes. Most Saturdays either him or his sister tags along.
Sister worker Noemi
Serving the cake... I don't think words can quite express how good it was, but I'll try. Layered, coffee, chilled sweet cream, vanilla, delicious, delightful, delectable.
Esa thought so too.
It was a good choice. Hence the name, the restaurant is centered around a gigantic aquarium. We were some of the lucky ones that got "front row" seats.
On Saturday night Esa and I made plans to go out for supper together. My dear Grandma Becky had sent Esa birthday money with this in mind, and since eating out is one of our favorite things to splurge on, we gladly obliged! On somewhat of a whim we ended up at Nais Aquarium... a restaurant we had been wanting to try but hadn't planned on visiting that evening!

A sting ray zooms by.
As well as a few little fishies. Take note of the "Claro" advertising in the back... That's my phone company!
mi amor gracias por hacerme un super cumple!! gracias por todo lo que hiciste por mi.. fue un muy buen cumple y estaba feliz de que por fin pudimos estar juntos.. gracias a grandma por enviar dinero a katie..
ReplyDeleteFirst: Mom, can you tell who's who?
ReplyDeleteSecond: Why didn't Jacob get to go to the aquarium restaurant? :)
Third: I love your gift idea of Razones por amarte. That is so cute.
Fourth: Our Grandma Becky is so sweet to send money for that!
My brain is fried from all essay writing so I decided to organize my thoughts numerically rather than trying to make them flow in a literature manner!
AWWWWWWWWW! How sweet and romantic........It warms my heart!
ReplyDeleteHa-ha, Amy, yes of course I got it right!
ReplyDeleteMy comments are several--first of all, never too old for presents! May I suggest a new pair of jeans for Jacob? :) Next, the picture of Alex and Grandma Pola is absolutely precious. Thirdly, I LOVE your "fishy" pictures! Maybe you should consider a career in underwater photography?? The one of you and Esau in the tube is just great. (although I realize you didn't take it) Not for the claustrophobic type.
Somehow this party doesn't have the "celebrate with complete abandon" feeling as some of the birthday parties have. Maybe Esau has helped make that feeling and couldn't quite be that way when he was one of the guests of honor! I bet the twins have celebrated together all 22 years. Neat!
ReplyDeleteAt our house, the double birthday is father and son, Darrell and Lex. Make it "triple" when you throw in our anniversary :)
