Weekend at Laura's

Two weekends ago I finally got the chance to spend a weekend at Laura's apartment. We had a wonderful time of salads, banana bread, Scrabble, Anne of Green Gables, visiting, and reading in the sun. It's been a long time since I've made a friend I'm so compatible with!

With my bag of 4 pairs of shoes. I only used two, of course.

Heading down the stairs...

And ready to go, with my cup of tea in hand! I have to add here that as well as being my first weekend at Laura's, it was also my first weekend away from Esa since I got here. To be exact, Saturday was our only day not seeing each other in 2 months. A welcome change from emails and phone calls. :)

On Saturday, Laura had a futeca game, which is small-field soccer. Here she is proudly showing me her number 2, which is also where she falls in her family of seven kids!

The team

Laura's friend Leslie who is also student teaching here. They came from Wyoming together.

*I regret not taking more pictures, but I was so relaxed (lazy?) that I didn't even take out my camera! I most wish I had one of Laura's roommate Linda. The apartment belongs to her, really, and she made me feel so welcome! She also adores Anne of Green Gables, reading, and Scrabble, so as you can imagine, we got along swimmingly.

  4. P.S. Loved the use of the word "swimmingly" I've always wanted to say that.
